defending rights and civil liberties

If citizen access to courts is impossible or made difficult, our rights become worthless. Therefore, it is necessary to remove all legal obstacles that hinder or make the justice system inaccessible, such as the payment of court fees, or the setting of conditions that limit or prevent the exercise of legal actions, either as part of a private or the “people’s legal action”.

There are other factors that undermine confidence in the legal system and therefore also affect the right of access to justice. Among others, the lack of information regarding citizen rights, legal aid restrictions, or a judiciary perceived to be weak or with limited independence.
