Rights International Spain has partnered with Plataforma por la Gestión Policial de la Diversidad to present a third-party intervention before the European Court of Human Rights in the case of Zeshan Muhammad v. Spain. This case regards a Pakistani youth who had to sue the Spanish state for the identity check performed by a National Police agent with the argument that he was “not going to stop a German.” Both organizations presenting this intervention believed that it was important to inform the Court of the measures that the Spanish state should be urged to adopt in order to prevent further discriminatory police actions like the one denounced. This infographic explains all of these measures, which have been recommended by other European and international human rights organizations and have been proven to work in practice in several police forces, both in Spain and in other European countries.
