The principle of Non-Discrimination is one of the pillars of International Law and aims to guarantee equal treatment of people regardless of their race, gender, nationality, social status, sexual orientation, gender identity, functional diversity, age, ethnic, cultural, religious or other origin. However, historically persecuted populations face unfavorable treatment and added obstacles in the exercise of their rights and freedoms due to their specific conditions or characteristics, which constitutes discrimination that becomes more dangerous when it is exercised from the State institutions themselves.
